Subsea Hydraulic Manifold System

Subco designed three bespoke hydraulic manifolds for a subsea system while the client's own engineers were stretched across other projects. Acting as an extension of their team, we delivered the subsea valve bank assemblies, pressure-compensated stainless-steel housings for water depths up to 50m, and the drawings and commissioning documentation needed for manufacture, assembly and commissioning, on schedule.

Subsea Riser Clamps

Subco turned around a subsea riser clamp concept design and costing basis in just two days, working over the weekend, so our customer could obtain manufacturing quotations and price the work to their end client. We then finalised the design with a full suite of calculations, detailed FEA, manufacturing drawings and FAT load‑testing documentation across two riser diameters and their associated tensile capacities, all produced in the client's own templates. The client won the work, and we supported through the pull‑test FAT.

AutoCAD Training for Appointed Persons

Delivered by chartered engineers fluent in both the software and the lifting theory behind the Appointed Person role; a holistic course covering the tool and the thinking, not just one. Teams leave with reusable templates and shared block libraries.

Overboarding Chute

Subco Engineering were engaged by a client to deliver the engineering design for a modification to an existing material handling chute system. The scope centred on the replacement of an existing 4.0 m chute insert with a revised 4.4 m insert, required to suit updated operational requirements while minimising impact on the surrounding structure and fabrication. The project was delivered on a fast‑track basis, with a strong emphasis on constructability, ease of installation, and alignment with existing verified designs.

Client Idea, Engineered Solution

A specialist emergency‑response team needed a safer, more flexible, and more realistic training environment — but had no clear design, no cost basis, and no way to seek funding. Subco delivered a pro‑bono FEED engineering study that transformed an initial idea into an engineered concept: a multi‑level training rig with modular features, clear technical assumptions, pragmatic fixing methods, and visuals suitable for both internal approval and funding applications. Early engineering definition allowed the client to understand feasibility, constraints, and cost drivers — turning an abstract need into a realistic project pathway.

Deck Reactions For Offshore Equipment

When offshore schedules are compressed and equipment configurations multiply, engineering methods are pushed to their limits. This project required generating deck reaction forces across 40+ load cases and six different equipment units—the kind of volume that quickly exposes bottlenecks in traditional structural workflows.

Pipework Analysis

Subco delivered a digitally‑driven pipework replacement solution across multiple projects using high‑fidelity point‑cloud scan data, precision isometric modelling, and comparative stress analysis to safely redesign and replace corroded FPSO piping.

Boat Unloader

Subco Engineering delivered a fully engineered, rail‑mounted boat unloader system for PD Ports, designed to safely transfer a wide range of vessels from quayside to workshop. Through phased development, detailed load‑case modelling, adjustable trolley and cradle design, and a robust winch‑and‑sheave system, Subco created a flexible, future‑proof solution that enhances operational safety, efficiency, and reliability. The final system provides PD Ports with precise vessel handling, improved repeatability, and long‑term adaptability.

Lifting Beam - Bespoke

Faced with the challenge of developing a bespoke lifting beam capable of safely handling more than 80 tonnes under demanding and asymmetrical lifting conditions, our client turned to us to help bring this capability fully in‑house. Through a disciplined engineering approach—combining first‑principles thinking, detailed analysis, and real‑world validation—we delivered a robust, fully proven design that gives them complete confidence in manufacturing and deploying their own heavy‑duty lifting equipment.
